This is a magazine cover design that I created. My inspiration for the cover came from the photo of the flower. On a visit to the bay area of California in summer of 2010, I went to the Hess Winery which had wonderful landscaping on the premises. In one of their gardens was a large, raised coy pond with water lilies growing in it. I always have my eye open for interesting photo shots and snapped this one as soon as I saw it. When it came time to do the magazine cover project for a class, I instantly thought of this photo and how wonderful it would look on the cover of a gardening magazine. Using Adobe Photoshop, I was able to correct the size, enhance the colors, and produce the type in the proper lay-out.
